Description

Beaver Dam features 10 miles of hiking trails near Raleigh, NC. These trails are rated easy to moderate and consist of 4 loops: a 2.6-mile outer loop, a 1.6-mile inner loop, a 2.4-mile west loop and more advanced 6-mile loop called the South Loop.<br />

Enjoy the shaded trail system that runs under a beautiful tree canopy, but be sure to watch out for other trail users, like mountain bikers.

Directions

The trails are at the Beaverdam State Recreation Area at Falls Lake State Park. To get there, take Capital Blvd US1 North to Hwy 98 in Wake Forest. Take 98 west to NC 50 (Creedmoor Road) in north Raleigh. Turn right and you will cross Falls Lake. The entrance is a mile ahead on the right. Go through the gatehouse and follow the signs. <br /> $4 charge per car from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Free from Oct-Mar.
